Description

Roasted Brussels sprouts with a sweet-tart maple-balsamic glaze make for a delicious side dish, perfect for holiday gatherings or weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb Brussels sprouts, halved
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Toss halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
  3. Spread them on a baking sheet in a single layer.
  4. Roast for 20-25 minutes until golden brown, stirring halfway through.
  5. In a small bowl, mix balsamic vinegar and maple syrup.
  6. Drizzle the glaze over the roasted Brussels sprouts and toss to coat.
  7. Return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes.
  8. If using, add chopped nuts before serving.

Notes

Don’t overcrowd the baking sheet to ensure even roasting. Adjust sweetness by modifying the maple syrup amount.
